Jeremiah advises healthcare professionals, employers, contractors, and business owners in civil litigation, professional licensing, and appeals. Before joining FAVROS, Jeremiah worked for five years as a public defender, where he tried numerous cases as lead counsel to both judge and jury. He also clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. His legal scholarship has been cited with approval by federal courts.

Representative Cases

As a public defender, represented clients in 11 jury trials and 27 bench trials, most of them ending in acquittal of all charges.

Wrote, argued, and won over 30 dispositive motions, including:

   Motion to exclude essential witnesses for discovery violations,
   Motion to dismiss for failure to preserve physical evidence,
   Motion to dismiss for tactical abuse of judicial process,
   Motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction, and
   Motion to dismiss for violation of the First Amendment.

Briefed, argued, and won federal appeal that ended in reversal and remand for client to obtain new hearing. United States v. Wallace, 557 F. App’x 567 (7th Cir. 2014).
