Representative Cases 

  • Represented 6 deputies on a claim of Outrage against a WA County stemming from the Sheriff’s actions. After a 5-week trial, received a favorable Plaintiffs’ verdict.
  • Conducted a three-week long medical malpractice trial, representing a General Surgeon, who performed a primary anastomosis to the mid-transverse colon to fix a perforation. Plaintiff suffered from sepsis, respiratory failure, multiple surgeries over 3 years, PTSD and was near death. Plaintiffs’ counsel asked the jury to award $6 million. The jury rendered a unanimous defense verdict.
  • Defense summary judgment in wrongful death lawsuit alleging special relationship/proximate cause of medical facility to patient’s actions in causing the death of a state trooper.
  • Completed a one-month medical malpractice wrongful death trial, representing a vascular surgeon, involving a graft that perforated the small intestine during a bypass procedure. Plaintiffs’ counsel asked the jury to award $9.6 million. After one hour of deliberation, the jury rendered a defense verdict.
  • After a one-month trial, received a Defense verdict in a professional negligence case, where plaintiff claimed that our client, the security contractor, failed to prevent a former VA employee from shooting another employee at a VA building in Clark County. Plaintiff asked for $8 million.
  • Represented an apartment complex on a case where a concrete step gave way and the Plaintiff fell down the stairs. After admitting liability and a 3-week trial, forced nominal damage award of $19,500. Plaintiff asked jury for $2.5 million for permanent nerve injuries including foot drop.
  • Represented a zipline company on a gross negligence claim. Plaintiff claimed traumatic brain injury when she collided with a tree. Plaintiff told the jury in opening statements that they were seeking $25 million. After Plaintiff rested her case, they accepted a nominal settlement. In speaking with the jury after, 12 of the jurors were ready to find for the defense, even prior to putting on our case.
  • Represented an insurance carrier in Federal Court on claims of bad faith and underlying traumatic brain injury stemming from an auto accident. The Defense admitted psychological issues from the auto accident. The Plaintiff asked for $2.3 million. The jury rejected the bad faith and brain injury claims and rendered an award commensurate with the admitted psychological damages.
  • Defense verdict for anesthesiologist in medical malpractice lawsuit alleging post-operative (cervical spine surgery) hematoma causing patient permanent brain damage.
  • Defense verdict for radiology clinic in medical malpractice lawsuit involving their radiologist who allegedly failed to properly perform an interventional procedure leading to patient death.
  • Obtained $7.1 million verdict for an insurance company in a Federal Civil RICO action involving rampant billing and medical record fraud committed by a chiropractor and medical doctor in 156 underlying auto accident cases.
  • Defense verdict in 10 auto accident cases involving serious bodily injury.
  • Several medical malpractice and premises liability matters dismissed with prejudice by plaintiff a few days before trial or while engaged in trial.
