The FAVROS Law litigation team obtained summary judgment dismissal of a class action lawsuit against a local hospital in which the plaintiffs claimed the hospital engaged in fraudulent and unlawful collections practices. The putative class of approximately 1500 patients alleged that the hospital violated several Washington statutes including the Consumer Protection Act, and was liable under theories of negligence and fraud, claiming millions of dollars in damages. The plaintiffs further sought declaratory and injunctive relief. Following extensive discovery, briefing, and argument, the King County Superior Court dismissed the case in its entirety, with prejudice, and declined to certify the putative class. The FAVROS team included Jake Winfrey, Todd Reichert, Jennifer Koh, Caitlyn Portz, and Rachel Bench.
