On March 22, 2019, Michele Atkins and Chad Beck won a defense verdict on behalf of their client, a family medicine physician, in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case tried in Pierce County.  Plaintiff claimed that the family medicine physician was negligent in prescribing opioid and benzodiazepine medication to the patient and that these medications caused the patient’s death.  The jury agreed that the physician complied with the standard of care and returned a defense verdict.
